What were your thoughts on this movie? We bought it sight unseen thinking it would be good considering that the book was pretty good--certainly better than Goblet of Fire which is the only other HP movie I don't own.

I thought movie 6 was sadly lacking, too. Most importantly b/c there were a TON of horcrux-related memories that were glossed over: in other words, the entire set-up for #7. I think this is the main reason why they are doing two movies for Death.Hal.

You thought they left out everyone's hormones? I thought there were too many hormones! It was like Harry Potter and the Episode of 90210!

On the other hand, both the book and the movie worked mainly as place holders between the major (if overly drawn-out) events of 5&7.

That's what I mean. The only interesting stuff in Book 6 were the interpersonal relationships, teenage stuff, IMO. And they barely touched on it...while ignoring the bulk of the actual plot. It was bizarre. I really missed seeing the Order fighting Death Eaters at Hogwarts. I didn't know they were making 2 movies for 7...how very odd, but at least they will have a chance to get in more detail.

I only liked the first three books. I enjoyed all the movies up to this one, however.

It really sucks because as poor as I am, I bought it anyway. With very high hopes. Only to find it to be boring beyond the point of watchability.

I haven't seen it yet, but the movies have gotten more and more disappointing to me as they've gone on. Azkaban was butchered.
