5 sleeps and counting.....
the sleep thing is something Paulette has always done with the kids when they're counting down to something exciting. I am so ready to get the hell out of Arkansas - you can't possibly know. Of course there will be people and things I miss but overall not so much! I'm done with living in creepy old mice-ridden farmhouses, I'm done with crappy wages, I'm done with everything I want to go to being an excursion. I'm ready to return the greater civilization with all it has to offer. I'm hoping I'll find a job fairly quickly. 7 yrs in IT doing a little bit of everything makes me pretty flexible and there seem to be a fair amount of project manager jobs out there. I just need to snag one :) I'm working on my resume but I pretty much suck at doing it. I'm great with other people's but it's hard for me to turn that same objective eye to my own. But this week I will be posting it one any site that lets me and will hope the right opportunity comes along quickly. Meanwhile I'll be hitting up a temp agency to produce some quick cashflow - and that's where I started when I got the job at the Q so never know what might come from that.
My ex is being a whiny little bitch about us leaving and driving me batty and my ex-mother-in-law is trying to guilt Connor into staying 'for his dad' when she really means for her - so yeah - the countdown is in full swing....
I can't survive down here on what I'm making - period - end of story - so if I know I can go back to KC and make the same if not more then why the heck would I stay in the stix and get a 2nd job? Oh yeah - I wouldn't!
Also, had a school meeting for Connor last Tuesday and they basically said if he misses one more day they'll send him to the day school in Harrison and I won't really get a choice (the mtg his dad didn't bother to attend because 'i'm taking him to olathe at the end of the month anyway so why bother' but 'i'm still his dad'). So you could say that I'm ready - over ready to go home.
I'm looking forward to Starbucks! Lunches with friends! A normal job (production sucks & my current job does NOT count as 'office' lol. Hibachi, mongolian bbq, westport, rivermarket, pretty much everything :)
