Whispered Webs hook
Polished, improved and sent, thanks to FM chatters.
I'm still in shock that I managed to write a hook in 139 words. I had 300 to play with and I did it in less than half. Not me at all.
It could have something to do with the fact I have written less than 10K in total of a story that is bigger. But I have no idea of what happens nor how.
I'd snatched a late lunchtime timed to midnight EST Friday (2pm Fri OZ time) and put off a meeting till 3pm just so I could enter as close to opening time as possible. I only expect a comment on how to make it better, but as I drove to my meeting I had a vision (fantasy I know) of getting an email asking for the first three chapters.
That would be a bugger, since I have one chapter and a smattering of another. More than five pages so I'm safe if by some miracle I make it to the top 12.
