Well the self-leveling compound didn't self level very well. I had never used it before so stuck to the directions exactly and added extra water when I decided it was too thick. But with 20/20 hindsight I would have added more water. The lino is thick and good quality so I think the odd imperfections wont show through.
Onwards and upwards, the glue is down (on half the floor so I can still get to the loo!) and drying hopefully in about an hour I can lay the first plank. Not looking forward to cutting around the loo and sink but am focusing on the end of the project and relaxing in a nearly finished flat!
I wanted more plants in the flat but our oven of a home kills most things, after a chat with dad about lots of possibles he decided we actually have very good conditions for normally tricky orchids. When I popped into the garden centre there where tons of them and I settled on a little white one for £7.99 on the way to the till I saw a huge double stemmed one that was on sale. Closer inspection showed that it had been £30 and was reduced to £20 - still a bit pricey for us :-( but as I put it down I saw the 50% off sticker :-) So we now have a stunning £30 orchid for £10 (only £2 more than the little on I first picked up!) All I have to do is not kill it!! I may have to admit defeat if I do and replace it with a plastic one!! lol!
