Saturn's Rings

I've seen them!

For the first time, I've looked at Saturn with the naked (well, telescope-assisted) eye.

It was a disc with a bright line bisecting it - all I'll see of the rings at this time of year - and a bright dot to the top right (top left thanks to telescope flipping) which I think was a moon. Titan perhaps.

Sadly, there's a very wild party going on a few doors down and a spate of shouting and smashing glass sent me scurrying indoors before I had a chance to set up the camera properly for a shot or two.

Still, not even the local chavs can party and smash stuff up every clear night, so now I know I can see Saturn it's just a matter of time before I can safely take my time and photograph it properly.
