"The uphill struggle. The blood, sweat, and tears."
That might be a little insight into the coming semester. Reading is going to be overtaking my life. I'm just hoping to read enough to write decent essays by the time they are to be due. These two English classes, plus Theater History projects, plus the memorization of paintings and new theater technology terms might just be my demise. However, I still added to my plate. I will be a ASM for
Zombie Prom. I also need to find time to get to know the new Pi Phi baby angels (there's 20 at the moment and possibly more to come!), possibly pick up a Little, and get the Michigan Alpha chapter of Pi Phi website up and running.
At the moment, life seems to be a bit overwhelming. I'm trying to take things one day at a time and do as much as I can ahead of time. Yikes. Here I was thinking that this semester was going to be an easy one. Instead of spending some of my days researching and all of my nights and weekends partying (as per Oxford), I will be relegated to attending potentially tedious lectures, and spending all of my spare time either working on homework or working in Sage.
I shouldn't complain though. The semester is going to be a good one. Stressful and busy, but good. I can tell already. I think that sometimes all one needs to do is think in a more positive light on the little things and life suddenly seems a lot brighter and more hopeful.
In a more literary note, I'm reading an interesting article by Huxley called "Agnosticism and Christianity". It's all about the differences between the two world-views and describes how adamant Huxley is for "Agnosticism" - though he dislikes the term. It's an interesting article, especially from my own Christian world-view. He makes a lot of remarks that make sense in his argument (i.e. he understands both sides well) but I think he missteps at a few moments and his argument seems to be based on a "faith" that he proclaims to detest. I look forward to finishing it and possibly discussing it in class (if we ever get to it because Whalen assigned an ass-load of reading for a 300 level class and I still haven't gotten the anthology required).
