I have the house to myself tonight. Actually, I'll probably have the house to myself all weekend. The 'rents are in Florida right now celebrating their wedding anniversary (how romantic!) and will be gone until Tuesday night. Michael was paint balling all morning/day at a friend's birthday party and is now spending the night at another friend's house. So what's a girl to do with the house to herself and finally some time where she doesn't have to worry about work? Well, I'm going to watch anime and movies on the gorgeous new TV in our family room, OF COURSE!!!
Yesterday was nice as well. I bombed around town for most of the day, all dressed up and feeling great. Fridays being my day off has been a great choice. I also finally hooked up with my old friend Leanne. It was great seeing her and talking with her again. We definitely have one of those friendships where we can pick up like we just saw each other yesterday even if it's actually been months since we last spoke. Yay for good strong friendships.
I've also rediscovered how much I actually enjoy dressing up. I love to wear nice clothes. Especially in the summer. If I'm not working at the warehouse, I'm most likely out around town in either dress pants and a nice shirt, a skirt, or a dress. Speaking of which, my dad bought me a new dress on Thursday. I think that dressing nicely gives me a special kind of confidence. I don't dress up to look nice for others, I dress up because it means that I took the time to take care of myself. I suppose you can say that in a way, it's a means for me to spoil myself. ;)
I have also discovered some wonderful new technology that I really want to purchase for myself. It's called the
Sony Reader and pretty much its a portable pad on which to read e-books. I'm always reading on my computer anyway, and it just seems like such an ideal thing for me to have. I know that I would probably use it all the time too. It's small (about 7" x 5" x 1/2") and only weighs 1/2 a pound. I WANT IT!! Unfortunately, it's $300. Although, if I do end up buying it soon, I can get a deal because I'll get $150 worth of e-books. Hmm... what's a computer book addict to do?
