That little pathetic noise she makes? Sort of "blert" but with a catch in the middle that makes it extra heartbreaking? I used to think it meant she was hungry, or she was thirsty, she needed affection, or she had some kind of vague existential dissatisfaction that could only be ameliorated by something undefinable.

Turns out what it really means is, "Please, please... I really need to get fur on your fresh shirt."
