New Year, New Life, New Vacation
So, I am thinking I want to do something really nice for myself for my birthday. My vacation time for the past million years has been taken up with racing, singing, or travelling for a relationship. I would like a vacation to be about me rather than some goal for a change, so I thought I'd put that idea with the birthday idea and go from there. The things on my mind are a) warm, b) ocean, and c) music.
Now, I don't speak a lick of Spanish, but of course my favorite music is afro-latin, and that's what I want to hear. I'm not overly wild about touristy places, but I also want this to be a relax thing not an adventure thing. I don't really want to be roughing it; life is adventure enough for me right now. If I spoke Spanish I'd say DR. If I was making this a motorbike trip I'd find a dual sport and make this Costa Rica. If I went to Brazil I'd get arrested for punching someone. If I wasn't really into the salsa end of the Latin music spectrum I'd say Holbox. If Cuba was ready and I was stronger I'd say there. Ruling all of these places out leaves me with... Puerto Rico.
Anybody been there? Have thoughts? Alternate suggestions?
