but here's what I've been up to:
- I am in semester two of library school, taking classes in collection development (I apparently use the "just in case" model for my own collection), internet technology (currently doing perl, syllabus also includes XML and Greenstone) and online resources (learning to use pay databases like DIALOG).
- I love my library job, digitizing old newspapers (you'll probably see these in my icons) and doing system support for the digital projects lab. Maybe soon they'll be able to hire me full time.
- I am on week 5 of the Eyetoy Kinetic 12 week program. I have only lost 5lb so far, but haven't really been dieting so that's not too bad. The program has cranked the difficulty of my cardio and "mind and body" games to hard and my combat to medium (my reflexes are crap), and will soon have me doing more things more times a week, so I'm optimistic. The camera works pretty well if you have a large room with even lighting and a spotlight on you. Part of my workout involves moving the couch to one side of the room and moving it back when I'm done.
- The cat seems to have recovered fully from her surgery two weeks ago, with only minimal emotional trauma from spending two weeks in an elizabethan collar. She no longer has a tooth that hurts, extra skin that she can't groom around, or nails that are way too long. She now runs around the house, and lies in your lap like a ragdoll, purring. Happy cat.
- While in Texas over new years, I went camping for the first time. So fun! We camped in our rental car (a Pontiac Vibe) by Lake Grapevine, and every night we walked by the lake under the stars, and every morning, we climbed rocks on the beach. We even found a geocache!
- I finished my latest cross-stitch, which you can see here. Now that I'm finished with "wisdom", I'll start on "prosperity".
- I've watched far too many books and movies. That will have to be a separate post.
