Derivative Works.

This strikes me. If not anything because I come from a community that once thrives, and in some areas still thrive on derivative works.

They are expressions, some very beautiful expressions of ideology, of self, of playfulness and of the deeper and darker sides of things using existing ideas, characters and worlds. And sometimes beautiful blends between those worlds.

I like what that article says, Especially "Humans own their experience of copyrighted content."

We may not own the material, but we own the inspiration and the adoration the material induces in us.
