I've had something of a mixed week. I've got some sort of chest infection that I've been ordered by a minimum of 3 people (Mum, Gideon, Kat) to see my GP about. They've got a point, though, coz it's been going on too long. I was coughing far too much for Kat's liking yesterday when we went round town. Normally I avoid town on a Saturday like the plague, but Exeter weren't playing yesterday because it was FA Cup round 2 day and they got knocked out in the first round, so there weren't hordes of supporters around. And Kat really needs some smart clothes for work and I'm the only one she trusts to be completely honest about what I think about how the clothes look on her! Because her back's been giving her trouble we went round with me in her wheelchair so she can use me and the chair as a walker/for support. It was really quite weird because I've not been in a folding chair for about 2 1/2 - 3 years! It was quite a weird sensation because of the structure - it feels more unstable than a rigid-frame chair, like it could fold up with you in it if pressure is applied in the appropriate places, and when someone's pushing you it feels like one side is being pushed a little more forward than the other so it's quite uneven. It's a lot harder to manoeuvre, the physical space it occupies is larger than mine, it's a lot heavier than mine, I tend to slump more in it because the back's higher...basically, it's not a good chair for me and I feel *really* disabled in it.

The chest infection has meant that the pain and fatigue are worse than normal. In short, chest infection + fibromyalgia and ME = flare. I couldn't make it into school this week because of it and I didn't get to Mass this morning. I even got up too late to make it to the chaplaincy at uni, which doesn't start till 11:30am! I woke up (having turned the alarm off for mass and promptly falling asleep again) at quarter to 12 and wasn't able to haul myself out of bed for another half-an-hour. I'm heading over to James and Joanna's in a bit, once the AFC Totton v Bristol Rovers FA Cup match has finished (it's on the telly; Bristol Rovers are currently 4-0 up) and they've done the draw for the 3rd round, coz that's when Burnley come into it, being a Championship side (I still call it division 1).

Good news: the new computer and my internet are co-operating with each other now; there were a few teething problems but as it was the end of the month I wonder if it was because I'd reached my monthly limit, coz Virgin do that (which I prefer to BT's "we won't give you any indication and we'll charge you ridiculous money for it"). I also, finally, have a new phone! It's a Nokia 2220, and it comes in purple and turquoise. Normally I'd promptly go for the purple, but the turquoise is a really nice colour.

Totton have just scored; now 4-1.

I really couldn't decide on which colour to go for so before I went into town on Friday I sent up a quick prayer that they'd only have one colour in stock so I wouldn't spend half an hour trying to decide before eventually pulling out my dice and using those to make the decision for me. God was obviously feeling kind to me and when I asked at the 02 shop -

Now 5-1

- and they only had the turquoise in stock. Thank you, God!!! So that solved that issue! And as jedda pointed out when I bumped into her in town yesterday, it'll be easy to find amongst my stuff because I have loads of purple things but hardly any turquoise ones! So all is good, I have new phone!!! I'm going to have to go back to the 02 shop, though - I can't figure out how to get it to actually connect to the internet so I can download the Hedonism album by Bellowhead so I can have New York Girls or something as my ringtone. Yes, I've read the instruction book, and no, it's not helpful.

I'm not seeing Gideon this weekend because today is the first Sunday of the month so it's the one-day larp event and I have a 10am hospital appointment (pain team) tomorrow. I'll go up next weekend, though, so only a few days to go.

At kick-off last Saturday, Burnley were 1 place above the relegation zone, in 21st. We came back from 2-0 down at Hull last week to win 3-2, trounced Ipswich 4-0 at Burnley on Tuesday and came back from 1-0 down to beat West Ham (who are 2nd in the table) 2-1 yesterday! An excellent 8 days! Because of this, we've gone up 11 places in the table! 21st to 10th in just one week! COME ON YOU CLARETS!!!!! Southampton, who have been top pretty much all season, having only been promoted last season, seem to lose to whoever's bottom of the division - they lost to Bristol City last week when they were bottom and then yesterday they lost to Doncaster, who were bottom 24 hours ago! Good thing they don't play Coventry till the last match of the season...!

It's very likely that in the spring, writerdahling will be moving down to Exeter, and thus we will become housemates. While I'm enjoying some aspects of living on my own, it's really difficult, much more difficult than I thought it would be, and I don't think I can do it much longer. A lot of it is the isolation, more so in the winter. It's a lot harder for me to go out, it's pretty much impossible -

Bristol Rovers have just had someone sent off for a rather nasty challenge, both feet off the ground; he only just came on as a sub!

- for me to get to the D&D game Mike's running .Yes, it's "just up the road", but it's down and then up a steep hill, so I've got to go up a steep hill coming *and* going, and when it's dark, cold, wet/possibly snowy, I just can't do it. And there's no point driving coz parking there is a nightmare and I'd have to park halfway back to mine at least. I've already missed the last 3 sessions because of the illnesses and Mike won't move it to mine, so I'm going to quit. I'm still a 3.5 girl, anyway.

I got a letter from the DWP yesterday, saying I get a DLA Christmas bonus!!! A grand, generous bonus of TEN POUNDS. That'll cover about 1/3 of my train fare up to my parents' for Christmas...

In a minute will be posting what I got in a letter from Atos. It deserves its own post.
