missing Andy Gray, badly

Dec 26, 2006 22:36

*groans* We need Gray back. Our results have been pretty rubbish since he got injured; he's our main striker. We lost 1-0 at Barnsley today. Apparently we should have had a penalty (again) - it's been a year since we were last awarded a penalty and there have been numerous occasions since then that we should have had one, but because we're Burnley...*sighs resignedly* He definitely won't be back until after the FA Cup match at Reading in 3 weeks.

Dancing out in Waltham Abbey (as is customary for Chingford Morris on Boxing Day) wasn't as bad as usual as regards temperature. It's a good dance-out and we always get a pretty good audience, but because it's the middle of winter, it gets really really cold. This year was noticeably warmer than normal. How can I tell for certain? My flute. The colder it is, the further in you have to push the headpiece for it to be in tune. However, the headpiece only goes in so far, and usually on the Boxing Day dance-out, it's so cold that the headpiece is in as far as I can get it and it's still out of tune (flat, rather than sharp, which is what happens when it gets too hot). Which means I can't play because it sounds so awful. However, today I didn't even have to have the headpiece in fully. *beams*

Nothing planned for tomorrow, although I really need to get some uni work done. I've started reading Robinson Crusoe. I've read the first chapter and it seems quite good so far. Also have an essay to at least plan, and really need to finish the books II, III and IV of Paradise Lost. *groans* Clare really likes it - but she did say I'd have to get further in and she suggested reading it aloud (like I do with plays). So this I shall do.

I'm meeting up with
tammy0001 on Thursday - yay!!!!! It's been absolutely aaaaaaaages since I last saw her properly.

Off to read some decent fanfic now.
