Life is good
I stopped posting a while back because... well I don't really remember. I imagine life got busy or my internet access got disrupted by a changing work schedule or some such mundane difficulties. In any case, the new(ish) job has worked out nicely. It is in no way challenging or particularly interesting, but it'll do for the time being. Plus I figure being a bit discontent with my current situation will serve as excellent motivation to move forward with my plans to return to school. Those plans are currently stalled in the GRE stage. I don't want to seriously start looking at schools or applications until I have a baseline look at what my GRE scores are and a better idea of where I might stand a chance of getting in and getting funding.
In home life news, I finally put some art up around the apartment. Sadly I think it took me almost a year and the living room is still remarkably bare. The kit-kats are all good and almost fully grown. (Did I ever post about finding the 3rd one by the Dart station @ Cityplace?) Viggo & Alastair have a bizarre cross-species gay love for each other that is very amusing to observe. Viggo will paw at Alastair till he roles over and submits to "love nibbles" all along his belly with his front legs wrapped around Viggo's foot. It's hilarious. I'm working on getting a picture of this rather fascinating grooming ritual.
The roomie and I are getting along swimmingly lately. Probably mostly due to the fact that we never see each other. Since she started dating Nick just before the New Year, she's been remarkably busy. We did have a bit of trouble at first with determining exactly how often he should be over (as in not for a whole weekend at a time), but we've found a happy median everyone can live with now, so that's all good. He seems like a good guy and she's really happy, which is nice to see. I will admit that it's been a lot nicer to see this last week because I met somebody too.
