~Prologue Prelude to the Revolution: the French/Indian war
 England was in a frenzy.

He needed to beat that damn frog and the insufferable Indians. But how?

England pondered for a moment. "Maybe my colony can help..yes...that's the ticket..."

~A few days later~

"America, I need help beating France and those bloody Indians.....will you help me please?"
America sat there for a moment, looked England up and down and said smugly, "I believe so...but, it'll cost you."

England couldn't believe what he was hearing. "COST me? H-How --- so?"

America laughed and said, "Well for starters, there will be high taxes on any food you eat or anywhere you choose to board your army. Seem fair?"

Taken aback but not really surprised at the Americans offer, England shortly replied, "Yes. That seems fine."

England held out his hand and asked, "Does that mean you'll help?"

America smiled and grabbed England's hand. "You bet."

After the French/Indian war, the Americans expected everything to be fine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's not that England wasn't happy that he had won against France with the help of his colony. In fact, he was overjoyed! But the war exhausted his citizens financially.
America, on the other hand, actually made money on top of his usual robust economy.
England then got an idea.
"I can get my colony to help pay for my war!"
Instead of doing this gradually, England sent America a letter that wrote:
"Alfred,
                      Effective immediately:
                           You will be taxed on stamps, sugar and tea. It's to help with the war debts."                                                                All the best,
                                                              The British Empire
America crumpled up the letter and threw it across the room, then stormed out of his office. What was England thinking? Did he expect him to pay for his war? America needed to talk to him face to face.
A few days later
~~~~~~
America couldn't wait for England to arrive. He needed to sort this matter out. He should at least have a say in all of these taxes....right?

England was let in by a house worker and pointed towards America's study.

'You...wanted to see me America?"

"Ah, yes, England. I have some things I'd like to discuss with you...about your taxes."

England sighed and rolled his eyes. "Go ahead, state your complaints."

America cleared his throat and said proudly, "I would like to have a say in this extreme taxation business."

England scoffed. "Are you serious? Hahaha come now America, what did you really want to talk about?"

America looked like he'd been slapped in the face.

He abruptly replied, "I-I'm NOT joking England!! As British citizens, we should have the right to participate in our own government. perhaps every colony could send two representatives to Parliament so that---"

"NO." England said bluntly. "Absolutely not."

America took a step back. "N-No?" He then walked up to England and looked him straight in the eye. "Tell me why."

England's eyes leveled with America's. "I don't consider you as a Briton or even a branch of England. You are MY possession and my property. You are not British citizens. Instead, you are DEPENDANT on Britain. There will be NO seat in Parliament for foreign people under British rule. Do you understand me...Alfred?"

America clenched his fists and fought back tears. "S-so...not only am I not allowed to have any say in your taxes... .....I'm just....your property....nothing else?"

England felt somewhat horrible for calling him a piece of property. They were lovers afterall. This was just a quarrel, America will get over it. England reached out his hand to reassuringly pat him on the head, but he felt a tight grip on his wrist before he got the chance.

"Don't.....treat me like a little boy." America sobbed. "I'm not going to allow you to treat me like a weak little child anymore.... You won't even let me be in my own government...."

America let go of England's arm and said, "Get out of my house."

"E-Excuse me?" England stammered.

"I said, Get out of my house England." America managed to say again.

England furrowed his brow and slapped America across the face then slammed him against the wall. "Let me set you straight, ALFRED. America, that would be you, is MY colony. you cannot instruct me to leave. I come and go as I bloody damn well please."

England grabbed the collar of America's shirt and pulled him into a violent kiss. America was both frightened and surprised. England had never been this forceful....

England broke the kiss but kept a tight hold on America's collar.

America looked into England's eyes with a horrified look on his face.

"A-Arthur-- I --"

America felt another sting across his face.

He turned to see England breathing heavily with a cold stare on his face.

This wasn't the man he knew...this wasn't the man he loved.

"I am your superior...and you are not to address me so informally. We are NOT equals, and you belong to me. Do you understand me, Alfred?"

Half-crying, America blurted, "You may own me...but...I have the right to say no. England, I'm not going to help you pay for your war. You can forget it. No matter what I have to do, I am not going to allow you to treat me as your property anymore."

England's grip on America's collar became loose.

He finally let go.

"YOU'RE A FOOL!" England shouted. "Do you have any idea of what you're doing?!"

America closed his eyes and clenched his fists. He was trying to muster all of the courage he could for what he was about to say. He really didn't know how England was going to react.

Before England could say another word, America violently pushed him to the ground.

"What the bloody fuck?" England shouted. "How dare you----"

"Shut up."

"P-Pardon me??! You do not talk to your---"

"I said SHUT UP!"

England swallowed and said no more.

"I-I don't....love you anymore England."

England's heart sank. "A-A-Alfred y-you don't mean that...."

America choked back tears to keep from looking weak. "Y-Y-Yes I do..........I'm....I'm....breaking our union...go to war with me if you'd like...I want independence....like it or not..."

There was a long, awkward silence, until a shaky England rose to his feet.

"If that's....what you.... want..then..so be it."

England walked out, managing to suppress his emotions.

As America watched England walk out of his office, hot tears streamed down his face. "Keep yourself together," he thought, "I'ts for the best...right?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
France was the first country to recognize America as an independent nation. (What a surprise XD) And France assisted America in the war. Just to see England lose. (my theory haha) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The war seemed to last forever.
So much hard work...so much bloodshed.
Finally, In Yorktown, Virginia, America and England faced eachother for the final battle.
America stood still in the pouring rain with his army behind him....waiting for his final fight with England to come.
"Sir! The British are just over that hill!", a lookout shouted.
America's heart skipped a few beats. But he had to remain strong for his country.
England solemnly led his army over the the hill towards the Americans. He was sad, but he was determined to get his colony back. Just like it used to be. They were so happy then. Why did it have to be like this?
England told his army to standby as he walked by himself toward the taller country, stopping only feet in front of him.
"It doesn't have to be like this... Alfred," England sobbed, hiding his tears in the drenching rain, "If you'd only just agree to---"
"No, England. As I said before, I'm separating myself from you. I'm not going to change my mind."
England was blinded by fury.
He took his gun and pointed it at America. America looked at the gun and did not falter.
England stood there, panting as he threatened to shoot. He looked into America's blue eyes and saw the frightened child he once knew. The man he loved. What in God's name was he thinking...he can't run a country on his own..."
England dropped to his knees and cried.  "Why?? Damn....WHY?? Don't...leave me Alfred.."
America's eyes welled with tears. England looked so pitiful.
"You..used to be...so big..." England had given up. America had won.
