the weekend's happenings
We started off the weekend at the bowling ally Friday night--the girls had their friends there and we are friends with the parents of their friends
Saturday--baked a lot in the morning---did house work and then we went to a local dance company's performance of "The Nutcracker"--all the parts were filled by children as young as 2 and up the age of 17--it was good and we all knew the young man playing Herr Drosselmeyer--then we hit the mall and then we bought a new fake Christmas tree--its smaller that the one we have--it seems the older the girls get--the smaller the tree gets--the only place I can place the tree in the living room and that is where we all are most of the time, so space is limited--then my 13 year daughter wanted chicken so we hit Chick Fillet (not sure if that is the right spelling)
Sunday--slept in --then we went to a Christmas open house at the coffee house where R will have her first art exhibition--friends met us there--there was free food--all kinds of things, but I behaved- although I did drink 2 coffees and 2 teas. When we walked in the owner asked R if she could have her art show in January--R's face went white--she thought is was planned for May--but they like her paintings and want to show them as soon as possible--that date is still being tossed around--I think it is too soon--too much pressure for a 15 year old--I think we will stick with the May date--we had a good time. We came home and pulled out this tiny tree from the box-and we were starting to work with it when R received a phone call--it was her friend telling her that she saw the boy that R likes with another female--put working with the tree on hold and started dealing with a 15 girls who is pmsing, who is fretting about her art show date being moved up and then finds out about this boy being seen with another girl--its time like this I wish I had a stunt double who I could call to handle this stuff--but I don't --actually her younger sister did a wonderful job of dealing with her sister--she had her laughing quite a bit--hubby just told her all boys are scum till she is through college--that is all he ever says to her--that is not a lot of help on his part--I gave her the usual blah blah about she will survive and so on-that's about it--now it is time for bed--maybe I can have some fun
