Alrighty, so I decided to go to Knott's Berry Farms Halloween Haunt this year and asked Thudpucker and Fritters to accompany me. So we decided on a date and I went over to Burger King today and got the coupons. $15 off for the day we decided. Awesome! So then I read the fine print. In order to get the discount, I have to order through ticketmaster or show up the day we wanted to go and hope they aren't sold out. Well, its a far enough drive to Knotts that I figure I will buy the tickets through ticketmaster. This is where it all started to go wrong.....
So I show up at a ticketmaster outlet and I can get the discount, but then they want to change me a $7 "convenience" fee per ticket and then add on a processing fee. Thats not sounding so great.
Now, ealier in the day, I mentioned this trip while at Trader Joe's and the helpful guy that works there mentioned that you can get discounts through colleges. So I had called Fritters and she had looked up the cost through the Alumni Association I belong to. It turned out the coupon SEEMED to be $3 cheaper a person so I did the whole hunting down a ticketmaster thing.
So once the Ticketmaster thing started to sound like not a brilliant idea, I went back home and went to the Alumni page and looked at the tickets there. Seems that luck is not on my side today. The date we decided on is not listed.
So I got to buy tickets from ticketmaster which, after all the fees they liked to stick on, came to saving a whopping $2 off each ticket and that was WITH the coupon.
I HATE TICKETMASTER!!!!!!!!!
Oh, as an aside, just to mention the salt rubbed into the wounds, I tried to book reservations for dinner beforehand and the phone just rings and rings and rings and rings and rings.....
