7 years of alternatives, and now the time is nigh

Buying a car is one of the most obnoxious undertakings in the world.  I'm getting a 2008 Toyota Corolla, and I feel like I'm leading two different sellers on.  I hate that.  I have a carfinder guy with the credit union and a guy at Atlanta Toyota telling me he can beat any price.  Just give it to me for the price I want already, yeesh.  I'm gonna play the color angle ("but the other guy's got a silver one") with the dealership guy so I can get him to drop the price to what I want.  I really wanted a blue one, and the carfinder found it in North Carolina with 250 miles on it and no price change.  Hmph.  I obviously have too much compassion to function is the car sales world.  But come Friday, I'll be a car owner.. it will either be gray or silver.  And brand new.  And all mine.

But then I'm freaking myself out again by thinking about how now I'm increasing my chance of an accident at least three-fold and increasing my chance of death just by owning a car.  I've never been in an accident.  I've been driving since I was 16, but just not all the time.  I should probably stop thinking about all this stuff now because I've just gotta suck it up and do it.  This is America and that's how things are.
