Summary: She's never been so afraid. For the wonderful comm
fantas_magoria. Okay, so it's not really a good poem. Think of it as a short fic with odd line spacing.
Fear…
Is in slow motion
Dry hand grabs
Your throat
Shake it off
Close your eyes against the
Smell of dust and sweat.
Turn in through the portal
Blink at the light,
Eyes widen, stomach clenches
Force your feet to move into the swirling sun motes, the greenish glow.
A circle beckons, mocking.
Faces loom. Chanting.
Your heart, roaring, fills your ears you
Almost stumble.
Suspended
…for a moment.
Breaking through the maelstrom, you hear
"Hey Buffy…we saved you a seat."
