Recommendations...for a Challenge at The Lighthouse
1) Songs
--Talking Heads: Naive Melody (This Must Be the Place).
This is my favorite song and that is saying a lot. It's lovely, touching, and the feeling is great. Also, this version from their live movie is quite delightful.

I don't really keep up well with new music so I try to watch all the award shows so at least I'm not totally out of it. I saw this on the AMAs and it really got to me, so I listen to it all the time. It's pretty and kind of sad.
2) Fanfics

This fic is like a book and absolutely gorgeous. Not sure if you need to be a Mystrader to really enjoy it, but the writing is first rate and the storylines (canon and not) intertwine beautifully.
--for Sherlock BBC, hyacinth_sky747, What To Do When Your Flatmate is Homicidal
This is a funny, silly, sexy, and ultimately heart-rendingly humane Johnlock from Sherlock's point of view. Unusual in that. Sherlock is hilariously self-centered as you can imagine, and John is the best friend and partner. Other pairings and adventures.
--for Firefly, innie, Phyxius.
The author describes it as "Backstories for the original six crew members. 'Phyxius' means 'putting to flight.'" All Firefly fans want more, more, more about their beloved characters, and this provides it. R rating I'd say.
