Title: Unbroken
Rating: M
Genre: Romance, Angst, Drama,
Characters: Kuronue, Kurama, a few OOCs to fill the needed gaps, a few cameos later in the series to amuse the fans.
Pairings: Kuronue/Kurama
Warnings: Lime content, homosexual relationships, child slavery
Series: Yu Yu Hakusho
Summary: One of my many tales of the love between these two, this one follows a rather tragic and mature theme dealing with child torture, revenge, one-sided love bordering on an unhealthy obsession, and the problems of a relationship focused around sex rather than love. Not that it's not jammed full of cute and fluffy moments as well, or the heart-wrenching tale of a love doomed to desaster and death before it even began (literally, seeing how the movie Kuronue comes from goes). Just be aware before you start reading that this isn't going to be all fluff, that we're dealing with youkai here and they don't always follow the ningen morals.
Disclaimer: I doubt buying the manga and DVDs count as owning anything...

So far the point of this story doesn't really dive too far into Kurama's past--I have other unrelated tales to focus on that--this one instead followes Kuronue's past more clearly. Within this story, I present him as a prince born to an almost fairytale set up of parents who love him and love each other very dearly. Being  a bat, he has many natural tallents that relate, and being the son of two very powerful bat youkai, he also has quite a lot of natural power. However, the story wouldn't be a story if everything was good and happy and wonderful in the universe. Instead, we have a child who suffers unjustly at the hands of a bandit (who has yet to be named) who wished for nothing more than to be powerful and rule so that he could have whatever he wanted and none could disagree.

Kuronue, nothing more than a small child at this point, was subject to whatever the more powerful youkai around him wished. With the death of his mother and father, he found himself for the first time out of favour with others. The results of this were desasterous for the poor boy. Power-hungry, cruel, and with a small and beautiful ex-prince at their mercy, mercy was far from what they gave. Thrown to the dungeons after brutal raping, left for the guards and later the other prisoners to satisfy themselves on until someone of higher ranking wanted his presence once again.

His only posession he was allowed to keep was a mockery of his previous status as the son of the king. A red stone imbedded in a silver pendant, once a sign of status, now a sign of a sneer. And as the years go by in a blanket of horrors, beatings, and rape, it becomes a new symbol: that of a promise that somehow, someway, no matter what it takes, Kuronue intended revenge. The very item that they used as a tool to mock him became the saving grace that kept him sane within the darkest pits of hell that they could force him through.

Some hundreds of years later, Kuronue had grown to what would be the human equivilent of a fifteen year old boy when he got his chance at escape. Beaten to a point of unconciousness and left in the back of a caravan, he slipped out when no one was looking. A broken and bruesed body, but a soul that fought with all the spirit of one who had never fallen to begin with, he pulled himself into the woods along the side of the trail and down into a riverbed.

Partched, he crawled into the water and drank, being too out of his mind to notice his drifting down stream as he let the cold spring melt-waters numb his body which screamed in pain. When he finally felt he had enongh of a soak, he pulled himself up on the nearest part of the shore he could reach and searched shortly for some form of shelter. Finding his way to the mouth of a cave, his strength finally gave out before he had pulled himself more than a foot or two within the entrence. He surrendered, however unwillingly, to the darkness of unconciousness once again.

He was awoken an unknown time later by rough hands. Though this in itself was nothing new, the voice and words were somewhat unfamiliar to him. "Who are you?" "How dare you enter here!" "How did you make it past my plants?" "What are you doing here?" "You are not welcome here!" the accusations and demands went on, but pulled themselves short as the stranger took in more of the details of the intruding Kuronue. "An escaping slave, are you? Well, I suppose an act of congradulations should be in order for at least managing to get yourself away. *Sigh* You can stay until tomorrow evening and heal as much as you will, but after that you are on your own and if you come back here again I will kill you, understood slave?"

Having no real choice in the matter, and lacking any real ability to answer anyway, Kuronue just let himself be hauled off by the silvery stranger that he happened to find himself in the den of without complaint. It wasn't until after he was dropped carelessly onto a sleeping pallet and his shirt began to be removed that he shifted with the long imprinted fear. However, the silvery kitsune only scoffed at him.

"Oh please, do you honestly think I'd be so in need to have to take a half-dead used sex toy to satisfy me?" was his cold words.

After a minor battle of wills surrounding Kuronue's pendant catching his host's eye, Kuronue was allowed to sleep and heal himself the best he could before the promised evening following where he was dragged none to lightly to where one could only assume was the edge of the kitsune's territory before he was dumped and left to whatever fate he fell pray to.

This is where the first break happens, and I need to get on to my Physics and Calculus homework now anyway. Anyone willing to give a responce to this is welcome.

For those of you who like the pairing and are under age to get into something rated for mature audiences, or for those who just don't want to read about such dark consepts, I will be writing other drafts down at a later time. Just be forwarned that I tend to take cliches and do my best to take them into a new direction.
