I have not posted in a while! Here is what is up with me:

Last weekend I went snowboarding for the very first time! We went up to Snoqualmie Pass and go there about 10. It was PACKED, I am told even packed for Snoqualmie on a weekend. Equipment rentals took a long time and I had a mini-freak-out. It was really crowded and noisy (I'm starting more and more to realize that if I get overstim'ed, it's usually from noise), and on top of that the equipment rental guys behaved like they had never ever encountered someone who'd never been snowboarding and like I was a huge moron for not knowing what I was doing. That doesn't seem fair considering that they are in the RENTAL place, seems like most of the people who know what they're doing wouldn't need to rent a board in the first place.

Anyway. Kriston and I were in a lesson together, but there were so many people in the lesson that I didn't really get any quality instruction. Nonetheless, after a great deal of waiting around to meet up with people (note: do not go to the mountain with a giant group of people in separate cars. You will not be able to meet up w/them, and you will spend waaaaaay too much time waiting around for them), I decided that I wanted to go on a run at least one time.

So after a (scary!) ride on the skilift, I got off on the easiest hill at Central Summit (Holiday, for those of you who know what is up w/the Snoqualmie). It took me about 30 minutes to get down, 30 minutes in which I realized that in my one lesson I had not at all learned to snowboard. I did not achieve my ultimate goal of making it from one skilift post to the next without falling down. I was on my feet for a max of about 7 seconds. At the end of the day, I had deeep purple bruises on my knees, elbows, and butt. I was sore from my neck to my ankles. And I had SO MUCH FUN and will totally go again.

Now I am in Colorado, visiting my parents. I had a really fun day with my dad and an enjoyable dinner with Dad and Barb at Olive Garden (official motto: Where You Go to Eat with Your Parents). Things are going well so far and I'm glad I came, even if it is colder'n heck down here.
