Mt. Pulag

I went to Mt. Pulag last month. It was a 15-kilometer walk. 'Nuff said.

To get there, we had to pass along Ambuklao road, which leads to the Ambuklao Dam. The highway was surprisingly smooth and well paved.

Here's a picture of a dam:

Cool. The first photo and the photo of the hanging bridge from afar have somewhat a tilt-shift effect. You have a tilt-shift lens? Or you know how to 'fake' it without the lens? :D

I wanna try the Pulag hike! But I'm a wimp when it comes to no bathrooms.

No tilt shift but I know what you mean.

The lens I used is capable of very shallow depth of field. It has an extremely large aperture setting of 1.7 -- the largest of any lens I have. Plus, I used ISO100 film for less grain and more detail during bright, sunny lighting conditions.

On the larger resolutions of those two shots, the depth of field isn't that particularly noticeable since the subjects were very far away. But look at my first shot of the summit's northern side. That's a wide DOF that I controlled to keep the foreground out-of-focus while the rest is sharp.

The better example I made of shallow DOF is the photo of the dwarf bamboo. On higher resolution the plant has better detail and the background is kept out-of-focus.

Oh, oh, btw, can you pretty please point me in the right direction of where to go in Quiapo (or elsewhere?) to get my Minolta film SLR fixed? Remember when I texted you before about it? Eep. Haven't resolved that problem still.

Hm... Not sure what the name is again... but I know where the place is at Hidalgo in Quiapo. But here are some camera shops that may help you. Just ask if they do repairs. Else, they can supply you with really cheap gear ( ... )

They do have bathrooms up there at the camp.

Sort of.

It's a hole in the ground. But there's a wall and boys and girls rooms are separate.

Hole in the ground with walls does not define a bathroom. Hahaha.
