Yesterday I had to tell someone she had to leave. It wasn't even my call but, I had to have a say on the matter.
What baffled me most was how she lasted this long. It's a horrible The Office kind of thing where someone just comes in and out and isn't noticed for the better part of the year -- until she screws up royally. Once... Then twice... And thrice... in a row. All within a matter of days.
Talking to her about the things she's been doing the past year, from the moment she came in to that point, was an eye opener. She had spent the first five-six months or so not knowing what her job was.
Iknowright???
This is what happens when you don't ask questions. For a year. As we were having this conversation, I had a feeling the points I brought up just wasn't getting to her at some level. Chalk it up to her personality or whatever, it's just not going to work anymore.
I found the entire process... I didn't really feel anything. At all. Just another day.

This morning I caught a mouse as it was rummaging through a plastic bag on my bedroom floor. I killed it.
