PUGAD Adventure
Also known as PUGAD, Pugo Adventure is a brand new adventure and recreation destination at Kagaling, Palina, Pugo, La Union. Located within picturesque mountains and a clean flowing river, Pugo Adventure has an ATV and Buggy track, three different ziplines-from the extremely high “Superman” which has you zipping through one mountainside to the next, the nerve-wracking “Speed” line which takes only 20 seconds, to the “Basic” zipline that lets you relax after all the crazy flying you’ve been doing-and some traditional wall climbing and rappelling spots. There’s also a pool and some huts for families to relax in.
They have a lot of bird wildlife all caged up. Also, a snake. This one gave me the eye as I was preparing for the zipline.
I actually didn’t get to shoot many pictures at this latest stop. It was all on video. So, here come some screenshots.
The ATVs use a thumb accelerator to speed up. After a while, your thumb gets tired. Like, really tired, whenever you need to clear even the smallest bumps on the track.
For some reason, people kept crashing into one another at the finish line.
I have yet to upload the video for this particular crash. It was semi-epic:
The ziplines were the crazy fun highlight. It was my first time, too.
The Superman line is one of the highest in the country. At 20 seconds covering nearly a kilometer’s three quarters of a kilometer's gap, it’s also one of the fastest. Those yellow blocks are used for braking.
After that, I was more than happy to be back on solid ground.
It was definitely unexpected fun, given that the facility only opened recently. More features will be added in the coming months such as a Freefall facility. It’s easy enough to get there from Marcos Highway but if you’d like, just go to the Flying V gas station located a short distance from the Pugo-Rosario Junction going towards Baguio. From there you can be picked up by their shuttle for easy transport to the site. Various packages are available from the basic starting at P850 per person (three ziplines) to the complete experience at P1,000 per person (three ziplines, rappelling and wall climbing). Other features have separate costs such as the buggy at P550 and the ATV at P350.
