I just finished my summer history. What a weight off my shoulders!! :) This summer has gone by super fast. I feel like this week has been my first big breather. From Ireland to camps, I have learned a ton, and tried things I never would have tried before this summer. I will share:
- I can shuffle & bridge cards now. (most of the time)
- Rummy + Kings in the Corner = new card games. (played ALL the time)
- Salsa dancing in the kitchen
- Hitting golf balls (and dirt/grass) at the driving range
- Ate lobster/tuna/chicken fried steak/ lots of new things
- Proficient at driving on highways
- Adept at playing the F cord. finally.
- visited a hospital
- P.T.A.
- entertained my grandfather
- learned Irish fairy tales
- learned to side shoot
- lived with no air conditioner for several weeks (honestly, it was alright)
- tie-dye
- rode a roller coaster laying down
- went rapaelling (sp?)
- bang bang click bang
- learned to read my bible
- learned of Papa's childhood/visited remains of his house
- reached out-made unexpected friends
- read books on my list
- weight training
- watched movies on list
- Goliath
- wakeboard (sort of...)
- purchased/burned/discovered new (actually, quite old) musical geniuses
All in all, this summer has been great. I'm thankful for everything that happened. I haven't seen a ton of school friends, which (don't get me wrong- its sad) in the long run I think may be good. I'm anticipating (not necessarily looking forward to) the first day of school. This year should be satisfying. I have different expectations than usual. My perspective has changed. I'm ready. I will be in New York from Thursday until Sunday, so come Monday....
I love summer.
