Week 8
This week in class we looked at the introduction to riders in the chariot. We looked specifically at the quote at the beginning of the novel from Ezekiel.
“I then asked Ezekiel why eat dung & lay so long on his right & left side? He answered, ‘The desire of raising other men into a perception of the infinite: this the North American tribes practice & is he honest who resists his genius or conscience only for the sake of present ease or gratification?’”.
Basically this quote is looking at the way others seek wisdom. What Ezekiel is telling us is, who are we to say a certain way of doing something is wrong, just because that is not the way we choose to do or see something? That’s really important when connecting the quote to riders in the chariot because the ‘riders’ are unique individuals who see the worlds in different ways, through different eyes, yet they are all divine in their own right and all possess the highest quality oh human divinity.
Week 8 Review
This week I looked at ‘Clare bear’s’ live journal. I always enjoy reading Clare’s LJ because not only does it provide me with more insight into what we’re doing in class, but she includes so much information about her life outside of uni and always manages to make me smile when I read it! Clare has a flair (that rhymes!) for writing. She definatley creates a sense of atmosphere with her viewers and shares a lot about herself and her true feelings.
Oh and the pic of her nephew is gorgeous!!!
Clare’s poem I love… was very interesting. Clare told us everything she loved in 18 lines and it was nice to read because I loved just about everything on the list to!
