Week 7
Ok, so we were talking in class today about how Oothoon wishes that Theotormon had Bromion’s strength. It turned out to be a very depressing subject because the whole class was torn! Half the people agreed, most notably Fadia and Alicia, whereas Rose and myself and a few others strongly disagreed. Sure Oothoon wishes that Theotormon wasn’t being so down about the whole situation, but how can it be fair or even true to say that a woman would look for the same quality in her boyfriend which her rapist possesses! To me the idea sounded ludicrous. BUT… I am seeing the point the girls are trying to make. If only Bromion’s strength and strong nature could be mirrored and channeled in a positive way by Theotormon to fight for the innocent Oothoon.
Week 7 Review
Today I was looking at Jennifer’s LJ and saw her week 7 post on “Dr Phil takes on Oothoon & Theotormon. How creative! Jen you’ve done a great job here! The script was quite funny and really actually delved deep into the pairs troubled relationship. I really liked this bit… “First, Theo, you have to turn towards Oothoon, not away. You absolutely cannot fix a problem inside a relationship by turning outward. All that does is create problems”…. Very Dr Phil indeed!
I could hear Dr Phil ringing in my head and phrases like “re-negotiate your relationship” and “she needs your support now more than ever” were used cleverly to make the script realistic and very much intone with what actually goes on on Dr Phil.
