Let me start by saying that I was having a good new year until today...
So last Friday I left for a core church retreat and I was excited to get away from my job for a few days. When I got back in to town Sunday afternoon, it was still going good. I woke up Monday morning and went to work 10-5. But I left at 4 since I didn't get to take a lunch do to the under-staffing. Got out a little early but was starving and mad at the management for stuff. Then as I was leaving I found out that I had to be there the next morning at 8 instead of 10 like the schedule said to count inventory stuff. So I was bummed that I had to work that early, especially since I was going to relax last night and watch the BCS college football game. It was also the foreign exchange students last night with our family. So I got up this morning and went to work, and of course the manager was late getting there. The inventory count was so screwed up, we are missing like 5 laptops. And I yet again didn't get to take a lunch. I came in 2 hours earlier then was originally scheduled, and left at the same time without lunch. Add to that about 20 minutes before I left my store director called me into his office for a meeting. In this meeting he gave me a corrective and said that it was issued company wide that if I don't get Microsoft Certified in 2 weeks I will be fired from my job. They told us about this certification in July, but we were never given a book until we told our manager that we needed one (they originally wanted us to buy the $100 book out of our own pocket). They gave us a few deadlines to have it done by but never gave us time to actually study to do it. They just kept brushing it off and extending the deadline. They wanted us to study on our own time, and I was like...um....NO. I'm hourly paid, if you want me certified you are going to pay for me to learn this, especially since this wasn't a requirement prior. So they agreed to give us scheduled time to study the material and prepare for the test about 2 months ago. Since then I have had 0 scheduled minutes to study. And they expect me since I am a veteran to sell computers, sell installs, perform install, count inventory, and help teach/train the new hires. Basically Circuit City could care less about their employees. All they care about is that they (managers), get their bonuses from having us sell, and they look good to their own bosses.
I am beyond pissed off and I can't even comprehend what is going on in my mind right now. Pray for me please, thank you. Love and God Bless
