I am explaining...
I was asked to explain: Ben Jonson, mannerpunk, tros.
1. Ben Jonson: probably my all time favorite playwright, he wrote such gems as Volpone and The Silent Woman (which is kind of like the Holy Roman Empire, because the woman is neither silent nor a woman). He's more like peeling an onion, nothing quite on the surface and a great insight into urban English comedy, 17th century style.
2. mannerpunk: Mannerpunk is one of those genres I always wanted to explore more. Its basically marrying the court etiquette styles of the French pre-Revolution and throwing in a good bit of cyberpunkish Smash the State. The new Showtime series The Tudors might actually be a good example of this style.
3. TROS: stand for The Riddle of Steel. Bought the core book and one supplement, I even worked on flavor fiction for a fan supplement that went pretty muh nowhere and died horribly. Its a great concept that I'd like to eventually try out. Big downsides, probably the magic system and the combat requires people to actually know which end of the pointy metal stick needs to go into the othe person as there is a bit of know-how in the combat system.
