As I was showering in preparation for my interview, my phone rang. When I got out of the shower, I listened to the voice mail. It went something like this:
"Hey, this message is for Catherine. This is (name) with (company) calling on behalf of (HR Manager). Give me a call back at (number) whenever you get a chance. This is regarding your interview."
I received this call at 12:50. My interview was at 2:00. I called back immediately after receiving the message (at about 1:00). No answer. I left a message with my name and phone number. I proceeded to dry my hair and wait for a call. Nothing. I'm starting to get annoyed.
I mean, who leaves a message like that? And then doesn't answer the phone? I call back a total of nine times (from a blocked number) and on the last call, leave a message saying "Hey, this is Catherine. I haven't received a call back yet in regards to my interview. The message I received didn't really say what was happening to my interview and since I haven't received a call back yet, I'm just going to leave and hopefully you'll be able to reach me before I arrive. If not, I guess I'll just see you there!"
I leave and then get a call when I'm halfway there. HR Manager had a family emergency and has to reschedule for some unknown time. The girl who called on his behalf said "you're probably on your way, aren't you? Yeah... sorry..." I wanted to be like "had you just told me what was going on on my voicemail or answered the phone this could have been avoided. I wouldn't have wasted the last bit of makeup I have on this shit had I known. Thanks for making me stress out for no reason" but naturally, I didn't. I laughed and told her to have a good day and that I hope everything is okay with HR Manager's family.
UGH.
But, on a positive note, I had a good workout this morning. I met a nice lady named Sweetie. We talked in the sauna. I upped my weights on the weight assisted chin-ups and dips and my arms feel great. My abs feel tight, too, which is such a nice feeling.
I discovered Trader Joe's Steel Cut Oatmeal and it's delicious. It's only $2.29 for 24oz of dry oats. I mixed it with vanilla soy milk and a little brown sugar and it's heavenly! Oh, and the steel cut oats are normally $8.99 at the grocery store for 16 oz, so $2.29 for 24 oz is a stellar deal!
Even though I'm still pretty stressed, I'm feelin' fine.
