I went to the doctor today and had a cervical check. No progress, which is just fine with me, because I have to finish that damn paper. She can stay in there securely until I'm done :o) Sure, it would be nice to have her after 37 weeks because I am getting kinda tired of being pregnant, but I really really REALLY need to get this paper done. She's looking out for her mommy.
Standing is becoming an increasingly rare event for me. Too much pressure on my body, it hurts after about a minute. I can shift back and forth between legs but only for so long. Then, I just need to sit. Walking for short periods of time is just fine, it's the direct pressure that kills!
I don't think I'm doing bad for being as pregnant as I am. I'm still pretty flexible (score one for "ten years of gymnastics!") for having this gigantic belly. I can still shave my legs and get most shoes on (although if they have straps, it takes a minute). I can lotion up, wash my feet, cut my toenails... not bad, eh?
I asked the doctor to guess how big Alana is going to be (explaining that I understood that it's just a GUESS) and he said I'm consistently measuring right on the money so he'd guess she's going to be about 7lbs 8 oz, right about the "standard" baby size. That's about how much I weighed. Allen was in the 6lbs range, according to his mama. Allen also came 3 weeks early. I don't know if I was early or late, my mom had a C-Section and she doesn't know either. One of my cousins was THREE WEEKS LATE though, oy. I don't need an extra three weeks, just five days at the most to finish out the quarter.
I only gained a 1/2lb in the last two weeks and the doctor I saw (mine is on vacay) bluntly said "are you eating?" I told him I was. It feels like I've gained more than that. I wasn't worried because my belly was measuring right on but asked him regardless. He told me that my belly was measuring perfectly and as long as I was eating, the weight "figures itself out." Basically, I'm fine.
I hope everyone else is doing well. That cramping they tell you might occur from internals...is occurring.
