Saturday
Saturday was Allen's birthday! Woohoo! Too bad I only got to spend like, an hour alone with him, and we were driving or showering.

We drove up to Lake City first thing in the morning to pick up his little brother, Clayton. The three of us went to Pagliacchi's on Capitol Hill (Allen did his research, it opens the earliest). We drove back to my parents' house, where they had ice cream cake for Allen's birthday (me, I felt sick). Clayton and Allen went down the street to play basketball and our guests started to show up.

A highlight of the morning was when Allen was explaining to Clayton how credit cards work and why he's pro universal health care. He's going to be a good daddy. My mom was pretty impressed, I have to say ;D

Family Shower
About twenty people showed up for the family shower. It was quite overwhelming, but nice.

We got WAY too many clothes from my family. She will not be small long enough to be able to wear that many clothes. We'll just keep them in case we have another girl and at some point, we'll be able to make quite the sizeable donation to someone who needs them.

Allen's family got us the travel system (as aformentioned), our soothing center
and our high chair

My mom got us a bouncer
.

The rest of Saturday
People didn't leave until around six, my dad arrived home at about seven and we went out to eat dinner. We went to Babies R Us after dinner and I finished purchasing some of the things we needed. I got a crib, changing table, Boppy, bottles and diaper bag, among other things.

The crib wouldn't fit in my dad's Honda, and definitely wouldn't have fit into my Corolla, so we purchased it anyways and my parents will figure out how to get it to us (I love them).
Sunday
Sunday was Mother's Day, so we went to pizza as a family at Round Table. Allen and I went to Lake City to see his mommy and we left. The drive back was fine, except for the rain and the fact that I couldn't see out of one side of the back window (Allen would look for me before I changed lanes).

By the time I got back here, my back and shoulders hurt SO BAD, but we made it. We unpacked the car and Allen took a nap. I laid with him. Allen got up and started studying for his test and I went to bed and read a little bit.

All in all, it was a good weekend, but I missed Allen. I see him every day now, so I tried not to get upset when I hardly saw him on his birthday. It was just a little different to have all of those experiences without him.
