an unforgivable amount of time has been spent on the wedding. not being particularly particular, this astounds me. to brides out there that do fret the petty: give up the fight you fool.
i am now deep in the persona of "stressed out and cranky" and am looking forward to dispensing with that at regionals down in virginia. "cranky" is an upsetting lifestyle choice.
the most certain bit of fun that i have had in five weeks occupied much of last evening: i gave a riding lesson to the daughter of a friend of my mother's (and her new horse, henceforth "big al"). it was fantastic helping her have "the best ride of her life" and to see a respectable horse in a worthy home. additionally: it's truly invaluable to have someone treat your instruction/opinion/suggestion as a direct order to be carried out immediately to the best of their ability.
