⇈ rodarte's exhibition opening at ny fashion week 2010.

⇈ doo.ri at ny fashion week!

really adore how chung seamlessly interweaves sharp silhouettes
with soft, subtle draping details. i like the last one best!

there used to be this fashionblogger whom i really really admire,
jaimewearsblack i think. (she stopped blogging alr :((()
the whole blog is about her wearing black but
its not black like gothic/punk/rock but black like classic, lux pieces..
like ⇈⇈⇈

too few people like her nowadays... strict, simple, understated and chic.

and ABDC season 6! jabba and poreotics wooooh!!
the latter looks like a group of vietbengs but they're awesome.

man, i'll mizzzz hiphop!
ive started to really like breaking cause its like bouncing, so its really damn fun.
over there, the dance scene is like those nua nua kind
which is kinda like 'returning to my roots' i guess, but it doesnt excite me...
DO YOU THINK IVE TIME TO LEARN POPPING BEFORE I GO HAHAH :D:D

1 week of no pay really makes you miss being productive and
seeing $$ on a regular basis.

WHAT IVE BEEN UP TO THESE FEW DAYS:
apart from going out, dancing, watching movies & going to ulu parts of sg

- been researching some more on accom and praying for
my accom package to come quick so i can APPLLLLLY!!
cause the hall i want to go into is the most oversubscribed one
so better be kiasu than nothing at all.

ironically though, im still trying real hard to draft an appeal. heh heh.

- also been expanding my culinary repertoire,
cause mummy says its no use learning how to cook chinese food;
i must learn how to cook with what's available there...
heheh, i think my best dish has to be chicken mee sua.
cause its damn simple and damn nice ((:

dont think they've to worry so much though,
since im applying to a catered hall anyway.

++, i think they should have more faith in my survival skills man.
i can cook, i can clean up after myself and wash...
its just a question of whether or not i feel like it.
cause like, all these little things and habits can be acquired,
so its really not that we're incapable, we're just lazy half the time right!

college day at vch - i love yan's polaroid cause it always makes me look damn happy.
i need to go buy polaroid film!! dont know where tho!!

i think my mum's being too paranoid.
there's not a day that goes by without her worrying about the cultural differences etcetc.
she's referring to drugs and partying and all the other vices
and how she's going to "lose a daughter"...
but its not like the local culture's clean either, y'know what i mean?

i think ive more restraint than to lose myself in that kind of zombie-life.

sure, i want to have fun, but i can do that and stay clean right.
and whether or not i end up here or there eventually
will just depend on where i can settle my debt faster.

but oh well, parents will be parents.

but yes, my debt will be my primary concern for the next few years of my life.
so, joy.

i mean if u calculate how much ur parents have invested/wasted on you,
its just a really scary and obscene sum of money.
dont understand how parents can bear to part with their hard-earned money
but i guess that's true love for you yo,  HAHAH.

any places in sg to recommend for me to explore?
all the nice, whimsical shops have all closed down or moved away :(
the last time we were at haji lane,
we were trying to find this bookshop but alas, to no avail. :((

was desperately trying to find Lolita the other day
but somehow, all the various copies in the library have all been loaned out
whatisthis!

ohoh, but if u guys are looking for a read (wtiannnn!),
i really recommend 'Hard-boiled Wonderland and The End of the World'
its an exploration of multiple consciousness
and whether such a phenomenon can exist in a person
and whether it is possible to escape from your own conscious
without losing your identity and memory.

i thought it was a science-fiction novel at first
but im glad it turned out to be more philosophical than anything.

im now reading 'A Carnivore's Inquiry',
a modern gothic novel about "questionable appetites" aka cannabalism.
the plot is quite dry, grotesque and unsettling,
and the protagonist is like some disturbed kid.

but im really interested in how it explores
cannabalism throughout history, art and literature.
its like adding a sordid dimension and a new interpretation to
what you've already know
like Hansel and Gretal. Red-Riding Hood. Goya's maniacal pieces.
and that's a disturbing experience in itself,
because it brings to attention those freaky elements that you previously overlook.

haha, thats me. forever looking for ways to scare myself.
but oh well, always good to know what's out there
and what you're running away from.

okay! half and hour before my pizza's done (:
late late lunch today~

dance, school, fashion, books
