mininanowrimo is open for joining and participation
I'm not sure if I can make even this minimal commitment this year or not, but http://mini-nanowrimo.livejournal.com/ is open for membership for a few weeks, so if you think you might be interested, go there and read all the rules/info etc. It's a fantastic challenge, where you promise to write at least 100 words per day in November -- or far more, your goal is up to you. Significantly, you REPORT IN EVERY DAY with how much you wrote, and it all gets spreadsheeted and reported out to everyone at the end, so it's pretty damn motivating (there are makeup days allowed, a few, etc.).
There are lots of rules and procedures you must follow,but they are simple really, and it's a great place, so check it out if you want some accountability but don't want to commit to writing a whole novel or whatever.
