Signal Boost; New comm and fanworks charity drive for fans of Kris Allen
As most of you know (haha... you newcomers are perhaps lucky to have missed it :D), I became a rather large fan of the buddies Adam Lambert (understatement of the year *cough*) and Allison and the adorable Kris Allen a few years ago when they competed on American Idol.
Both Adam and Kris have been amazing at giving back and sponsoring various charities. A new lj comm,krisfansunite. , looks to be an awesome place for centralizing various fandom charity type events pertaining in any way to Kris Allen. Later, once his new songs drop (squeee!), they plan drives to gift copies of the singles and album, and it looks like there's going to be other Kris related giveaways, etc. So go, check out the comm and join if you have interest in such things.
Right now there is a DonorsChoose dollar drive on. DonorsChoose is the fantastic charity that directly helps classrooms. On the comm, you can bid on various writers' or artists' works or offer something yourself...and it's not just fic, it's anything Kris related). (Just so you know, I've sworn a vow to myself not to make fic offers for the foreseeable future, since I'm kind of broken in various ways. There are awesome awesome offers on there though!). HERE is where you can bid on fabulous works or offer them yourself!.
