"Mansplaining"

Here's a definition of "mansplaining".
When I had my son, it was my second c-section. They had to cut through scarring from the first one and, as a consequence, they had to do a stab wound and put in a drain. A few hours after the delivery, I was in my hospital room and the epidural anesthesia was wearing off. I had the drain, a foley catheter in my bladder and an IV with fluids and piggyback antibiotics. I was in PAIN with a capital P. I turned on my nurse call bell and told them over the intercom that I needed pain medication. A few minutes later, the nurse showed up and handed me a little cup with two Tylenol. I looked at the pills and I looked at her and said, "This isn't going to cut it. I want morphine or Demerol, preferably IV push." She stuttered a bit and told me that was all I had ordered. I told her to call the resident and get an order and to tell him that if he didn't order it, I would call my attending at home. (They really HATE when you call the attending. :) ) She came back about thirty minutes later with IV morphine.
The next morning, it was New Years Day (yes, my son was born on NYE) so the chief resident made rounds and I didn't see my regular doctor. He came in with a cloud of interns and third year medical students orbiting him like satellites.
He proceeded to YELL at me for insisting on pain medication and told me, "All of my C-sections do quite well with Tylenol." (Not even referring to us as, you know, WOMEN.)
I cranked up my bed and went eye to eye with him and said the following. "Look, asshole, the day they cut your belly open and drag a baby out of it, then YOU can tell me what kind of pain I'm in! Now get the fuck out!".
Half the interns brought notebooks and file folders up over their mouths to hide their grins. A few were shaking shoulders from suppressed laughing.
The next day, my attending did his own rounds and came in and apologized to me for not writing pain medication orders immediately after the surgery.
THAT is "mansplaining" and that is how you answer it. :D
