Frightening Insanity

So, when we arrived at Thursday night's Pagan Campus Organization meeting, Michelle had called an "Executive Meeting" for the first half hour, where anyone who was not a "recognized voter", meaning, anyone who was not an undergraduate student who was present to put their name on our club update form last month, was forced out of the meeting, and ( Read more... )

As much as I agree with most of this, I do hope it's all in the past. In fact, this may have turned out to be a good thing.

It has called for an election... and opinions of the past presidents notwithstanding, the fact is that calling for an election has brought some of the new members to be nominated. And want the position.

This is a very good thing. The fact is that you, me, michelle, david, toby... we're all the old guard. (some older than others. :) ) You and I (and david, he's done a share too) have been busting our asses this last year to build the group size, and now some of those people wish to take part? That's a great thing. I'm not going to be here next fall, and it will be nice to help out the new crew with what they're doing. If we waited until next fall to bring in a new president... well, they wouldn't have the help of everyone else to keep on building PaCO. Because we won't be there.

The old guard has something to offer. Advice and experience. But the new guard are the ones who will carry the torch. I think it's good that we have the opportunity to pass the torch, and that we have some willing torchbearers.

And hopefully we can con Tina into coming to some more meetings. :) I stopped her on her way out of the meeting, as she had mentioned something about healing abilities, and I had a fascinating conversation about various techniques. Maybe she knows some other people that do this sort of thing and we can have a topic about it. That would be cool.

I agree completely. I'm very excited to see the interest in the new students, and I can't wait for them to take over. >^_^< It's very exciting to see our advertising efforts pay off, and to see so many capable new young people here to carry PaCO into a new future. I'm sure they can make it back into the good thing it was always meant to be. Can't wait to see it! >^_^< .
