I used to have a blog at Blogger.com. Sure, I hardly used it, I do most of my blogging here at LiveJournal, after all, but I did have a few friends over there. (As I do on many different blog sites I use to keep up with different friends.) I did have a few posts. I feel.. what? "betrayed"?
You see, Blogger.com is now "The New Blogger.com". They are now fully integrated with Google Accounts. They're bigger and fancier. But instead of making this upgrade while preserving the accounts of their members, it seems they have made the upgrade by deleting everything they had, and making members who log-in re-setup their accounts.
I went there, and I logged in, and then it made me go through a set-up process to add in Google Account info. Then it took me to my new URL, with my blog, blank and empty and set up with a new template. Even though it lists me as a member since February 2005, when I first joined, and told me it recognized my account, it expects me to start over from scratch. All my settings, entries, and friends are gone. What am I supposed to do with that?
I hope LiveJournal never does such a thing. What a horrific thing to pull. It's a good thing I kept LJ as my primary writing place, otherwise I'd have a lot to be upset about.
