Welcome to our very first BOY amazon
Those of you who know me know that my family is made up of a large tribe of women. Well, yesterday, at 12:09 pm, our tribe welcomed our first male Amazon.
His name is Logan Jackson Powers and he was a big boy at 8 lbs 12 oz. and 22 inches long. He looks like a sweet little bald conehead and has the very pronounced nose of his daddy.
My sister was extremely tired but was able to enjoy a relatively short labor (about 5 or 6 hours) but had to get some stitches because of the enormity of Logan.
I have seen him and he is something to behold. I love newborns but there is something about one of your own that just makes them extra magickal.
Isis fell immediately in love with him. This is good because I am sure that they will be best friends and partners in crime. They will go to school the same year because of Isis' late birthdate so we shall see how that goes.
As for all of the other girls, they could take him or leave him but I love him and I will definately take him :-D.
One of the best parts about this whole thing is that I do not have to leave my sweet nephew like I did my niece. I went to Virginia to help my sister in her final days of Elora's pregnancy and just two weeks after she was born I had to make the long flight back home. I cried the entire time. My heart is overflowing right now because I cannot believe how lucky I am to have such an amazing family - chosen and blood.
All of the crappy things that are happening in the world right now can only be neutralized by this kind of love.
