In case you lately joined the nin.com and nin.com forums:

Unfortunately that's all that can qualify as slash there, lol, the used "slash fiction" words as no one posted anything.

...moooving on:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIYAVI! 27 kisses for you ;)

+ I'm just gonna say briefly that I'm in my FULL JAPANESE LOVE period and after going completely Berserk with movies now it's music time, lol. So yes, basically, for 2 months or so I'm listening to j-rock and getting into new bands and artists ;). So yeah, I was reading this DEG (Dir en Grey) journal article and I just got to this part when Kaoru (guitar) says:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Some musicians say, “I just don’t feel like listening to other music while I’m composing or recording music.”
KAORU: I use to think like that in the past. When I was working on Macabre, I wouldn’t listen to any band music, but listened to tribal songs instead. I was making music “in a mood where I’m inside that world.

--In a way, you get the feeling as if you’re burning incense or meditating.
KAORU: Yep. But, when I actually write songs, I don’t really listen to other music; even now. I didn’t buy any CDs during January through February. Even if I were to buy CDs, rather than finding something new, I would look for music that I’ve liked before. I obviously downloaded NINE INCH NAIL’s GHOSTS I-IV.

--I’m impressed! I bought the CD. They’re out in stores now.
KAORU: When I saw the website, I ordered the deluxe version right away. But the limited 2500 copies were already gone. (Mr. Masuda: If I explain this part, it would be long, so try to understand the context from the continuing interview below)

--What do you think of their way of selling music? If you want to only listen, you can download them at a low price, but for people who have a love of possession, there is a fancier version.
KAORU: I’m actually thinking about that (laugh). If you simply want to download music and listen, choosing between possible and impossible, I would say it’s possible. I’m saying this in a context of a free environment to listen to music. In the end, if an artist has something more than a “sound,” it shouldn’t be a problem as long as you’re able to express music that would make people want to know more about it.

--So it’s all right even after you’ve downloaded music, if the artist is able to intensify the listener’s desire to own the music?
KAORU: Yep. If I think of myself, if I listened to the downloaded music and thought it to be good, I would want to see the booklet that comes along with the music. I want to see what kind of people make this music, and want to know what kind of taste they have.

--Yes. That’s why we download and also buy the CD (laugh). The problems are illegal download, leaking of incomplete songs, and leaking of live music. That part right?
KAORU: Yes. But, even those guys don’t really have any grudge against us. Last time, The Marrow Of A Bone leaked to certain places…. I was actually pissed off. But, the people who leaked the music probably didn’t think they were doing a bad thing. Well, I wouldn’t know, but they may have thought innocently, “There’s some new music so I want other people to listen.”

--That person may have thought he or she did a good thing. However, that person does not have the right to let everyone obtain the music.
KAORU: I guess it comes down to that point. Well, just because of that, it’s difficult to blame that person, and you can’t change the fact that the music has leaked. I think we are partially to blame for being unable to oversee our songs. I would like to be stricter in that aspect. Going back to what you’ve said, if you pay for your download, you want to know the merit of that act. Listeners would want to know what’s so good about the downloaded music. In reality, NINE INCH NAILS reach out to those people.

--They do a good job. Mr. Reznor knows how to use the media well. (By the way, a few weeks after this conversation, NINE INCH NAILS released their new work, THE SLIP with free online streaming. The CD will come out in July.)
KAORU: They are good. I’ve totally gotten into it (laugh).

In case people don't know about Dir en Grey, remember this post? + here's present day's look:

+ here's a song so you could get an impression:

REPETITION OF HATRED live from their latest dvd In weal or woe

Adding to the pie, I think it's important to mention here DEG gone overseas also, beginning with Rock am ring in 2006, and then being invited by Korn (Jonathan Davis was MORE than impressed by the guys and especially by their vocal, Kyo, and their live performance and appearance) to join their Family Values tour, also the place where they met with Deftones (LOOOVE) and it seems the guys were also impressed as they invited them to come on their tour as being their main support acts. Parts from the Deftones tour are also present on their latest dvd In weal or woe and seeing the band with Chino, Abe and the guys was TOTAL LOVE!!! (again, fangirl moment ;))

SO, if you're into hardcore, screamo, industrial and rough things like that and you still don't know about DEG you should totally go check them and add some exotic vibe to your i-pod ;).
