So much for daily posts!

The highlights of the last week or so have been:

Coventry BC meet
Not one of the most crowded ever, but pleasant company, the right number of books, interesting conversation, a satisfying attempt at the Times crossword (OK, so we've got more done before, but it was a very rapid start) and a lift home - always a bonus!

An evening/overnight visit from one of my oldest and closest friends
He arrived bearing copious amounts of drink (mostly, but not all, alcohol-free), chocolate and some copies of Champs-Elysee; provided a foot massage & copious much-needed hugs (having first obtained
spike1972's leave, of course); talked and listened until late-but-not-too-late-for-a-school-night; was more than willing to get up at my time and was even complimentary about the cranberry porridge he was force-fed for breakfast

Thanks to
katisha50 for sharing the tickets and directing me across Birmingham. I did have a bit of a sore throat to start with - due to that lift home on Tuesday perhaps - which is now fully-fledged laryngitis, but at least I had an endorphin-producing evening to round off a very sleepy weekend.

Scrabulous
Finding you can get onto it without going through Facebook. Now all I need is time to actually play the darn thing.

Friends, song and words - what else does one need to get through a week?

bookcrossing, friends, cooking, films, pollyanna
