Rest Today, Surgery Tomorrow

Lots of things have been going on since last week. It all started last Tuesday when I woke up at 6am in the morning with really bad cramps. At first I thought I was constipated so I took some meds for it. When it continued for a while, I decided to take ibuprofen. I went to work and OMG, it got worst and had to go home after being there for 30 minutes. I called my parents up and my dad told me to take this one med to settle my stomach. He thinks my stomach is upset because I took ibuprofen on an empty stomach (which I usually do anyway). I went to the CVS close by and man, I had to make a few stops before walking. The first med actually gave me heartburn and when the pain was still there, he told me to get a different med. The second meds, I had Hiroshi buy it for me because I couldn't walk anymore. It settled my stomach but the pain was still there. This time it was more focus on my left pelvic. So after putting up with the pain since 6am, I was finally taken to the ER at 8pm. They took some blood samples, urine test, and ultrasound. Blood and urine was okay but they found a 5cm cyst on my left ovary. The doctor told me to meet with my OB and sent me home with some strong ibuprofen. My parents, Pauline, Sofia, and Adrian were there. Sofia was the one who took me to the ER.

Wednesday I went to work and switched my health insurance provider from Riverside to OC. It was still a little painful but somewhat bearable thanks to the ibuprofen. There were times that it did hurt like hell to the point I had to go to my car and lay down for a bit.

Thursday morning I woke up at 2am in excruciating pain despite how I took ibuprofen 3 hours before. It felt like some really bad cramps with constant sharp pain on my left pelvic. I called Adrian first and asked him if I should take ibuprofen but wasn't sure because I might get overdose. He wasn't sure either and so I called my mom who told me they'll come immediately. My parents and Adrian came and took me to the ER that morning. The nurse took some blood samples and urine tests again. I was also given narcotics to block the pain. The local OB told me that my cyst had to be removed since it's mostly solid inside which means it won't go away naturally. The earlier pain I've felt was actually my fallopian tube twisting because of the cyst, cutting blood supply to the ovary. If it was twisted then the cyst had to be taken out right away. It's good that it somehow twisted back but I should still have it remove as soon as possible. They sent me home again with narcotics this time. I've confirmed the updated health provider with my insurance and made an appointment with my new OB on Friday.

Friday morning the pain wasn't so bad but I still walked like a granny. My mom took me to my new OB since I was still feeling miserable: cramps with poking knife on left pelvic, stressed, constipated, and not enough sleep. The OB took some blood samples (seriously I have three holes on my right elbow, one on my right shoulder, and two on my left shoulder) and urine sample to make sure I'm okay. I had another ultrasound and he confirmed there was a cyst that needs to be taken out. If anything, there were actually two masses and combined together it was 6.6cm. If its really bad then there’s a chance they’ll have to remove my left ovary. The surgery was scheduled on Wednesday.

Saturday I was home by myself since Pauline went out but Hiroshi visited me this time. He washed the dishes and took out the trash so my apartment was a little nicer. I avoided taking the narcotics and stuck with the ibuprofen.

Sunday night my parents and Annabeth visited to drop off some food. I was feeling much better and my appetite was back.

Monday I could walk with a straight back but still at a slow pace and my mom insisted she take me to the OB. I really thought my cyst was shrinking but apparently it grew to 7.1cm. I was really surprised how it was still growing despite how I didn’t feel any pain. He prescribed stronger narcotics for the after surgery. Afterwards I took care of the surgery registration and confirmed the $3.5K payment. That was another headache but thankfully Pauline volunteered to pay. Of course I’ll pay her back.

So today I’m all by myself. I’m just cleaning up the apartment in a slow pace so at least the apartment is clean when I come home feeling like crap tomorrow. Everything is set but if I sit still I’ll get a little emo.

But yeah, it’s been one hell of a week. Rest today, surgery tomorrow!
