Dancing to the Rhythm
I'm writing this between run throughs for the Legend of Cofresí, the show I'm in this weekend. I'm playing percussion in the pit, which is especially fun since I don't have music for most of the songs so I just get to make shit up. It's pretty sweet.
So, let's see...I'll try to remember last weekend. I think Friday night involved going to "Best Week Ever," this comedy thing, then watching Remember the Titans in the common room. Saturday involved shenanigans in our room and ending up at the Grille, always a good way to end an evening. Friday there were more prospies, so some people put together a Jello egg hunt for them. They were special jello eggs, I assure you. Good times were had by all.
So room draw was this week. I ended up in a single on the top floor of a section of Coffrin. It's the section that's farthest away from everything, unfortunately, but I went with it because the top floor rooms are really nice- huuuge windows and high ledge space to store stuff. Ali is in a double in the Chat with a single attached. I'm kind of sad that I'm not going to live with Ali next year, and kind of sad that she's living with someone else. However, basically the reason she's living with this other girl is that this girl had a horrible draw number and Ali wanted to keep her in our commons. I think she was supposed to then switch rooms with someone else but that didn't end up happening. And they didn't really expect to get the block in the Chat. So, hopefully I'll still see a lot of Ali. I am looking forward to my sweet room, also 4 of my friends are on my hall so it should be good.
In other news, I interviewed for an internship at the Middlebury College museum of Art yesterday and today I found out that I got it! So, I will be working here from early june til August 18. I'm sad that I won't be in G-town all summer, I will definitely miss my peeps. But I think it will be fun to be in Vermont, and some of my friends will be here too. And I'm really relieved to have a paying job.
This week has been crazy with all the rehearsals for Cofresí. I have to go back for a run through at 11. Maybe I'll go watch Adam play the Sims for a little longer. He just created a new couple, this white trash chick and a black guy in a Viking hat. They're the "American" family. We were making them "woohoo," then they got in a fight with the neighbors.
Today for Eath Day there was a huge picnic for all the students, there was really good food including flatbread pizza. We are such hippies. It was a good activity for 4/20, too, I suppose.
My friend Sara went to the hospital today because she has the flu really bad. I really hope she is ok, especially since she's supposed to be the stage manager for the show.
In other news, Branford Marsalis is the man, as is Sun Ra. Ask me if you care to know why.
