Switchfoot was AWESOME. Until my friends ditched me and left without even saying anything. I assume they left, because I couldn't find them anywhere. So that was nice.
But it was awesome anyway. I'm thankful to God that my friends ditched me and that I had to wait in the rain for my ride; it gave me a moment to pray. I'm thankful that I got to go to the show at all, because that gave me an incentive to pray. And Switchfoot is GREAT live. So much energy. I was worried it would be too mellow for me to really get into, but it was awesome. Even the slower songs, they were so energized and I had a great time. And the way the music and your heartbeat melt into one another and you're not sure which is which... so awesome. Seriously. I had such a great time. It was a beautiful experience. And they played some older songs, like "Chem 6A", and some new ones, too. Let me say that I CANNOT WAIT for their next CD. Gonna be so good. And I was SO happy with the encore. The whole night I kept thinking, "Let them play Gone, let them play Gone." They come back for the encore after Meant To Live, and what do they play? GONE! I was SOOO happy. Thank You, God! Too awesome.
I stuck around forever after the show to get a CD and a t-shirt. The biggest t-shirt they had was a large, but it's really small. So I'm gonna rip the logo off and ribbon it to another t-shirt sometime. It'll be awesome. The CD I got is The Legend of Chin, I think from 1997? It's really good. I'm listening to it right now.
Some funniness from tonight:
[x] "What's your name? Kim? KEN? You didn't sound like a Ken..." *SNORT*
[x] Jonathan Foreman playing guitar with his tongue LMAO
[x] "South Dakota, SD, we're from the other SD, San Diego..."
[x] "I can officially say this is the first concert Switchfoot has ever played in South Dakota."
And crap, I hope they come back for more LOL I wouldn't be shocked if they didn't, because the crowd was pretty lame. Tons of empty seats, and I'm not entirely convinced that anyone besides me knew the words to any song other than Meant To Live. But it was awesome anyway, and there's nothing in the world cooler than hearing hundreds (wishful thinking? LOL) of people screaming, "WE WERE MEANT TO LIVE!" and "I DON'T BELONG HERE!" Very, very awesome. Crap, they better come back. I need Switchfoot again. LOL
