I started my new job on Monday. I went through a pretty hefty orientation and now I'm training with the receptionist. In a few weeks, I'll be training with records management. I'm officially a long-term temporary fed with hopes of becoming a full-time one somewhere in the future. Some people may hate the government and as a result anyone who is associated with it, but everyone I have met so far has been quite pleasant. From what I have seen so far, there is way less bitterness and self-motivation than you typically see in the private sector. It's more about making the whole mechanism work smoothly and comfortably. Now, this viewpoint will likely change as I get to know my co-workers better but it's a nice start.
In other equally important news, Brad and I got a puppy. I've been wanting a dog for years now and things will be stable enough with me working again that we figured now was as good a time as any. The pup's name is Tiberius and he is a 11 week old whippet.
