I wonder if our paths had crossed just a moment before or a moment after, would you have loved me? Isn't it funny how timing is everything? A single heartbeat is the line between life and death. A slight delay the difference between love found or love lost. Who are we but mere mortals caught up in the throes of time, captive to its control? Time controls everything. I no longer believe in soul mates. I believe it is more mates of time, two people joined in love at the perfect time. Who we are with is not so much who we were meant to be as it is when we were with them. Timing. We are captivated by it. We are spellbound by it. We are prisoner to it. It controls us. And not just in love but in every aspect of life. Friendships form because of timing. Two hearts join whether in love or in friendship because the location of said hearts is in the precise proximity to make them join. Does this equal soul mates? Are we predestined for this joining with certain people or is this joining occur because of proximity and timing? I say it's the latter. Proximity and timing. Destiny is a crutch for the docile, those who choose to sit back and let life come to them. Those that choose to take control of their own destiny, they are the ones that find themselves in the midst of love and loss, but emotions nonetheless. Those who embrace and destiny and capture it find themselves living life while those who choose to wait for it find themselves lonely and without a substantial amount of living that has been done. Thus far I have waited for life and destiny to grace my life and have come up empty, but no more. I now choose to take hold of my own destiny for I am the master of my fate. I will no longer live my life as though life should bless me. No, now I will demand it’s blessings and live life to it’s fullest according to my own rules and my own standards. I am alone at a crossroads and I choose the road that leads to love.

I'll wait for love. Will you?
