the world wildlife fund (one of the few charities i work into my meager budget) is kicking off a new campaign for earth day this year: time for change.
they are encouraging people to save their spare change and donate it to the wwf via a coinstar machine (there's a link on their site to find a machine near you). if you log on and pledge to collect $50 or more, the first 5000 people will get a fundraising kit with a free globe-shaped piggy bank, and if you submit $50 in coinstar receipts dated 3/4-4/22, wwf will send you a tshirt for your hard work.
i've already donated to wwf via a coinstar and it was very easy - you just dump your change into the sorter, it counts it for you, and you click the wwf button. they give you a receipt for tax purposes. i don't know if i can collect $50 in the next five weeks, but i'll be sure to donate whatever change i can scrounge up.
