(no subject)
One of the (male) fifth graders accidentally (as far as I can tell) ordered a a gay romance manga, hahaha. There was nothing terribly explicit in it but there was some heavy petting so I had to send it back. The kids have very little idea how to order books, they usually just put in a keyword and order the first things on the list. Like one fifth grader searched for dogs and has ended up with an educational picture book called All About Dogs! as well as Soldier Dogs, a non-fiction novel documenting dogs in the military.
I need to write down more of the ridiculous stuff that happens here sometimes.
ETA: I just herded a starling out a window while a group of sixth graders watched and called advice from the other side of the library. How did it get in here? It is a great mystery. They thought it was funny that I was the one dealing with the bird, since I go by Miss Cat (going by my last name seemed weird). So it was Cat vs. Bird. Haha.
